Brief description

Online Doctor Consultation

GPLine provides secure online GP consultations with doctors registered with the Irish Medical Council. Our service allows patients across Ireland to speak with a qualified GP from the comfort of their home using a secure video or telephone consultation. Whether you have a new health concern, need follow-up advice, or require medical guidance for a non-emergency condition, our doctors are here to help.

During your consultation, your doctor will discuss your symptoms, review your relevant medical history, and recommend the most appropriate next steps. Depending on your individual clinical assessment, this may include medical advice, treatment recommendations, electronic prescriptions where clinically appropriate, referral letters, medical certificates, or advice to seek in-person care if required.

Who Can Use This Service?

Our online GP consultation service is suitable for adults and children with a wide range of non-emergency medical concerns. Every patient receives an individual assessment, and treatment decisions are based on clinical judgement and current medical guidance.

When Online Consultations May Not Be Suitable

While many medical conditions can be assessed safely online, some situations require an in-person examination, urgent investigations, or emergency treatment. If your GP determines that remote consultation is not appropriate, you will be advised to attend your local GP, an urgent care service, or a hospital where necessary.

Emergency Medical Care

GPLine is not an emergency medical service. If you experience chest pain, severe difficulty breathing, symptoms of stroke, heavy bleeding, loss of consciousness, seizures, or another life-threatening medical emergency, call 999 or 112 immediately or attend your nearest Emergency Department.

Why Choose GPLine?

  • Irish Medical Council–registered GPs
  • Secure encrypted video and telephone consultations
  • Evidence-based medical advice
  • GDPR-compliant patient data protection
  • Transparent pricing
  • Professional follow-up guidance where appropriate

Medical Disclaimer

GPLine provides online GP consultations for non-emergency medical concerns. All diagnoses, prescriptions, referrals, medical certificates, and treatment recommendations are provided only after an individual clinical assessment and where considered clinically appropriate by the consulting doctor. Online consultations do not replace emergency medical services or hospital care when these are required.
